No steam?

Hi I have a tefal express anti calc that no longer produces steam well it did when I moved the cable at the water holder base the red light on the iron was going on and of. When I moved the cable at the water holder Inlet base it would click on and of until I done it one day and there was a loud bang. The iron still comes on but the green light won't.
