Mend JCM G223 Jcm Gold Cash Register

How can I fix my JCM Gold G223 Cash Register?

Sometimes when I key in an amount it shows P and E on the screen. When I hit the top of the till it rectifies itself sometimes other times I have to switch it off completely and then it clears itself. It seems to be an intermittent fault as it could be all okay for 2 or 3 days and then could play up badly the next day. Any solutions?

Printer error. Usually the motor failing or a sensor blocked. Try giving it a blow out. To check if it is the motor, try turning the printer motor or gears (if you can get to them) about half a turn when faulty. If it starts to work again, the motor is probably very worn.
