I can't open my Favorit Sensorlogic dishwasher 88080?

I unscrewed the front to see if I could fix the on/off button which isn't catching so has to be held in place with a tooth pick! I decided the job looked too complicated to continue with and screwed the front panel back on with no difficulty. Then I closed the dishwasher which clicked shut and I haven't been able to open it since.
