Wet ford c max key fob car won't start?

Hi,
I managed to get my ford c max hire car key fob wet and now the car won't start and informs me ( in Spanish !) that the vehicle is immobilised.
The central locking doesn't work either now.
Is there any way of drying out the inside of the fob or reprogramming it before I go back to the hire company for a fisting??
