my 2.5 1996 ford transit is hard to start and has lackof power?

Hmm,
hard to start and no power?
I'd be doing a compression test first.

check your filters are clean,check valve timing and tappet gaps,had a few of these with the main starter lead from the battery,they would turn over ok but bad to start,think it was a high resistance at some of the soldered joints,these would be worth looking at,also check fuel lines are secure and none rubbing through particularly in the engine compartment,also when checking tappets check the rocker shaft mounting bolts are tight and secure,good luck.
