Mend Russell Hobbs Wont Heat Stay Down

My Russell Hobbs toaster won't heat up or stay down ?

I was toasting bread and the bread just popped up and now the toaster won't toast or stay down

Russell Hobbs Kitchen Appliances, Toasters Wont Heat Stay Down

I've taken the screws out underneath, but I can't remove the steel trim around the bottom of the toaster.

check the fuse in the plug ,or try it into a different socket , if it not getting power it wont stay down, try that first,
