Fisher & Paykel Smart Drive Excellance 6.5 ?

When I turn the washer on, all the lights come on as per normal, can adjust settings etc, but when I press Start/Pause it simply beeps but the wash doesn't actually start.

Suggestions please?

Okay the 603 model has a lid switch mounted on the right hand edge of top deck. On the right side edge inside of the lid you will see a bump in the plastic. That is the activator for the switch so when lid is closed that bump will be right next to where you will find the switch. Take out the 2 screws at the front edge of the deck (under the plastic stopper) lift the deck up and look for the switch held in by one screw. 2 wires run along the side and in to the back panel. Make sure all power is off before starting work. Unplug it from wall is best.

Possibly a faulty lid switch. What model number do you have? It will be on the back of the machine. There where 2 different lid switches in use over the years.
