The light on my GHD's does not work?

Hi, Iv had my GHD's for about a year and havnt had no problem...went to use them the other day after a long time and found that when i plugged them in the light would not work, and they dont heat up.
This is the first time iv experienced and problems with it...
What would u suggest it is,and is there anything i can do? or should i get them sent off...
and would you have any idea on how much it would cost?
