mouse nt working? on laptop?

Does that mouse work on another computer? If not, the mouse is defective, or, if it's a wireless model, it's battery may need to be replaced or recharged. A rechargeable battery is dead if left discharged for about a week. Replace or recharge the battery if needed. Replace the mouse if replacing the battery don't work or it's a corded model.

Try connecting the mouse to another port, usualy an USB port.

Does the mouse works BEFORE you enter the password and not after? Check the configuration in the controll pannel, Mouse section. The mouse is probably disabled in that profile, or even globaly.
