I have changed element and now cooking takes too long?

At Christmas I tried making Yorkshire puddings in my grill/oven model hja4610 ever since grilling good has took an eternity. I bought a element off estates and have replaced, the element is glowing then indicator switches off/on when temperature reached, fan seems to be running too. However this morning it took me 25 mins to cook sausages where prior to this it was taking a max of 15mins. Can any one suggest what might have changed, or what may be cause?
