Mend Cooper Menvier 9448 Flashing Light Keypad

flashing light on keypad?

cooper menvier 9448 keypad the top light is flashing
ie the green one top left the alarm works after
changing back up battery .the manual says this should glow steadily .ie not flash any ideas why.
