Mend Red Light Flashing Keypad

Why is the red power light flashing on the wall keypad?

I have had my alarm system in full working order since installed in 2007, but since a couple of weeks ago i have noticed that the red power light which is usually a solid red light is flashing, and i don't know why, can anyone help?

sounds like a loss of mains power,or could be a duf battery cant say for sure since you not give name of the alarm panel
