Mend Carl Lewis MOT566 Treadmill Board Belt

How can I fix my Carl Lewis MOT566 motorised treadmill?

The board that the running belt wraps around seems to be collapsing. Whilst I thought it would be made of metal the board seems like compressed fibre.
Is there anything that can be done, or a replacement sourced?
