Whirlpool (from Ikea) DWF 416 indicator lights stopped working?

Our Whirlpool DWF 416 built in dishwasher from Ikea (about 6 years old) is working fine, just that the green indicator lights which we need to work when selecting different programmes, have stopped working: result is we dont know which prog we are on!! Strangely it seems intermittent...when i open the door a long way the green lights sometimes come on...loose wire? Any help greatly appreciated....
