how can i stop my smeg washing machine from vibrating very bad when spinnin?

my smeg washing machine vibrates and makes loud knocking noises when spinning this makes the drive belt come off.

Could the bearings need replacing? Open the door and check for movement up & down when rocking the inner drum - dont get confused and shake it up & down so the WHOLE machine moves in it's case!

Listen for noise when spinning the inner drum - it will probably sound worse when it has a load in.
