how can i fix my smeg d1612c dishwasher?

i have a problem with water remaining in sump i would like to remove drain pump to check. any help on how to go about task

tip it on its side un-do tinware get some water pliers remove spring clips and clean out. make sure all hoses are clean really easy to do.get some big towels ready so water will not get to dc or timer unit. hope it helps...
