I have a Stoves SN70FP, also know as a HAP0030, that is tripping the circuit breaker when the bottom fan oven is turned on. The top oven works fine though. I have taken it apart and had a look but can’t see anything obvious. There are no shorts to ground so I can only assume that something is pulling to much current. I have disconnected the fan element and it is reading 22ohms. I have also checked the fan motor and its at 62ohm. Can anyone shed some light on where the fault may be and how to check it?
element down to earth.could be the fan element or the grill element.you need to do an insulation test on the element to find which is causing the tripping.resistances are good on parts listed but if insulation is low it goes to earth instead of through part and causes the rcd to trip.you can remove all wiring from each element in turn and tape the connectors then try to switch it on.if it then doesn't trip it gives a good indication that the element you disconnected is the one with an earth leakage current.replace it and hopefully it will then work correctly when connected back up.disconnect from supply b4 working on appliance
