Zanussi WJS1665W - E91 Error Code - Problem with Drying function?

Hello Everyone.

Once again our trusty 12 year old Washer/Dryer is testing me with a problem ;o)

I recently opened it up to clean out the Condensor Unit (have done this before) and Ventilator Fan.

After putting it back together, the Drying function now only works 50% of the time on either Cottons or Synthetics (heat is being generated).

When it does not work I can hear that the Ventilator Fan is NOT being activated and thus not blowing the hot air into the drum. The Timer also gets stuck and will NOT show the Drying time reducing even though the machine has been on for ages.

I have run the Engineers Diagnostic and on the 8th press it tests the Ventilator fan, which does start up and is working. When I check the Error Code (9th press) I get "E91".

Loose connection somewhere maybe or a Sensor malfunction?

I am also getting some condensation in the Time Display.

12 years old so was going to replace but finally got to the wiring loom connector and amazingly it worked. Machine works perfectly and this has been the first problem in 12 years. The connector quite difficult to get to on this model and had actually tried to buy another machine but could not get delivery so had a second go at fix.

Thanks again CK and this site! I have done as you suggested and all is working fine.... :o))

Not sure what the exact problem was as the hose was clear and the fan seemed to be OK but the main thing is that both the Cottons and Synthetics drying programmes are working as they should be.

e91 is a communication error between the main pcb and the display pcb.usually its the blue wiring loom between the 2 having a bad connection on the display end.removal and refitting the loom sorts the issue.dryer could be a semi seized fan or the water valve is blocked causing poor condensing.check dryer solenoid water inlet valve works and remove hose from it and blow hard down it to clear obstructions
