Mend Aiwa DX-C100M Plug Turn Check

How do I reset my Aiwa DX-C100M?

I plug the player in, turn it on...goes to check for a few seconds and then displays Reset. It was purchased in 1994 and has been used only sparingly over the years. Thanks much for your help.
