Pegeuot speedfight 49cc?

the problem is the intermediate starter gear it is a small gear with a helical cut on it and the teeth break off ,take the cover off the left hand side of the engine and pull the gear out and put a new on in .they are about £25 from 3 cross motorcycles ok .it is also possible the gear has fallen off the end of the crankshaft so check that too it wuill be obvious when the cover is taken off.do not take the kickstart lever off the shaft leave it on you can take the cover off without removing it ok

hi m8, just bought a speedfight 2 2005, electric start wont work and my kick-start is also frozen/seized up, would be interested to know what you find out? my dad has spoken to a bike shop and found out that there is a half-moon gear that can overide the secondary gear which makes the kick-start jam solid. due to bad weather and no garage, havent had a chance to strip it to have a look, anything you find out could you please email me on bowlesy2@yahoo.com ; also when i pull the back brake and push the electric start, i can hear a faint noise, does yours do the same?
