maqcallister 484 hp will not start?

hi, was running ok then stated to die then cut out. After bout 5 mins it will start for a few seconds then dies then nothing, fuel going to carb ok air filter ok believe plug is ok as it runs for few seconds. machine is only 5 years old, oil changed yearly
any suggestions please
