Mend Homelite UT10947D Chainsaw Brake Bar

Homelite chainsaw ?

When using my chainsaw I can't get the brake to release unless I pull the bar back and hold it back. With the brake handle back I hear and feel the click like the brake is off, but unless I hold the brake bar back very firmly the chain will not turn. I took it down and cleaned it, but that didn't help. Help is appreciated.
