How do I remove the coupling drive on my Kitchen aid blender?

look at the little space between the blender and the black coupler... the round shaft really has 2 flat edges. When I ordered my coupler, it come with the tool to grab the flat edges. The coupler then gets un threaded CLOCKWISE.
