repair dishwasher?

electric went off in house.. british gas electrician traced it to dishwasher. is it the element because it doesn"t heat water up. where is the element and how to replace it.

yes it could be the element.it is somewhere inside the dishwasher casing.How to do it depends on make and model which you forgot to mention in your question
