My dryer stops - Having looked inside the catch for the belt rollers had snapped so hubby has fixed this but now it still stops. without the belt on the spindle rotates freely and quietly but as soon as there's upward pressure from the belt it sounds as though something's catching inside the motor. Hubby used the shaft of his screwdriver to put downward pressure on the sprindle and this cured it so he thinks the spindle isn't aligned within the motor. He doesn't know how to fix that - Any ideas?
sounds like a bearing in the motor has gone,or the start cap has gone, ask hubby to remove the belt and see if he can move the motor shaft up and down,or side to side, there should be no movement make sure he unplugs the machine first
