Mend Hotpoint CDT00 Tumble Dryer Motor Belt

Loose belt on a Hotpoint Aquarius CDT00 tumble dryer?

I've noticed that when I start the tumble dryer -- even when empty -- that there is a noise like the pulley at the motor end is not gripping the belt. After a second, everything appears okay.

This happens with the dryer rolling in either direction.

It's only a few months old. Surely the belt hasn't stretched that much already? Or is there something else wrong?

we've had our CDT00 18 months after about 6months it became noisey,we had someone out to fix it
(although didnt cure the prob) now is ten times worse.. we are after a solution to. at times it sounds like the back is gonna drop off.
