recently inherited a performance power mitre saw, the laser was working last week, but yesterday it is not working , is this a common fault?, how do you fix it?
I had the same problem with the on/off switch for the laser, it gets full of sawdust, gets between the contacts and stops working! A very simple trick is with the saw turned off, blow compressed air to either side of the switch and keep turning it on and off. You could use a bicycle pump if you haven’t got a compressor. Once all the dust has stopped coming out give it a try. Worked for me

This happened to my saw - an inexpensive MacAllister from B&Q - just like you say.
Check for a switch on the side of the big up and down handle.
Good luck...
