Mend 9448 Power Alarm Control

how do i shut off my burglar alarm?(9448)?

I need to have the power off my 9448 burglar alarm for a few days.Will taking the battery out of the control unit stop the bells going off?I am worried about the outside bell going off.Will this stop it?
