Dimplex Storage Heater XLS24N?

Hi,I am having the same problem as many others as my storage heater has stopped working,I rang Dimplex after reading about pressing the reset switch as I couldn't locate it,they told me it is the plastic/nylon looking black centre of the 2 round gizmos that both have two wires running to them sitting under the controls,only one has this black centre and it's the one on the right,this is something I haven't read anywhere regarding the description of the reset switch,but I sent them a phoyo so I guess they are right,so anyway I pressed it and it never clicked,in fact it feels just quite solid with a little bit of say 1 mil of play,but it definitely doesn't feel "sprung" when it's pressed and it definitely didn't make a click.I have changed the switch to one with a light to try and see if it is at least coming on at the switch as the old one was just the switch and it may have also been broke,but still no joy.I have checked the circuit for continuity at the switch,the elements and at the fuse it runs off and that seems fine but do i need to do a live test?Other than that I am not sure what else to do,maybe the thermo can be checked for faults but I don't know how?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
