Repair indicators.
When hazard lights work and indicators do not work.
Three basic steps 1. Change fuses. 2. Change relay or flasher can 3. Change switch. 1. a Most cars have notes on the fuse box's dictating which fuses pertain to indicators. I’m 55 years old and I've never had a car yet that showed the relevant fuses in the correct positions. I’ve never had a car manual which didn’t contradict the fuse layout diagrams shown on the fuse boxes. So replace all fuses. Changing all fuses will mean you end up with a complete spare set of fuses. Don’t throw your spare fuses. Spare fuses can be rotated back through the fuse boxes during the next electrical repair. Rotate the used fuses providing the fuses were not the problem. If the fuses were not the problem this will mean the repair progressed to steps 2 and 3. 2 a. Parts like relays can be accessed by the timely removal of panels. So expose the relay and then ask you're wreckers if you can test a relay quickly. This way you don't have to purchase if it's not needed. 3 a. Expose the switch and then ask you're wreckers if you can test a switch quickly. No steering wheel removal to plug in the yoke when testing. This way you don't have to purchase if it's not needed.
Note: As with all electrical repairs disconnecting the battery prior to works will diminish electrocutions and maintain a fully charged battery.
