If you take the cover off and give the drum a shove (carefully) it might start on its own. If it does then its the capacitor thats kaput. The capacitor is the small tubular 'thingy' fixed to the side of the motor. You may well see heat damage if it has failed. Its job is to kick start the motor backwards and forwards like a starter.
Howeve if the drum will not power round when you give it a shove, then the motor is the likely culprit and with some play in the bearings it might be time to call it a day.
Capacitors, however, are not dear -just Google your machine with the word capacitor.
