Mend Ford Combo 1.7Di Crankshaft Sensor Starting

whats wrong with my combo van 1.7di 03 plate?

just had fuel shaft posistion sensor fitted and my van now takes about 10 seconds to start, and is now makeing a chugging sound (like coughing)strugling to tick over on idle and high revs 1500 any ideas anyone heard it could be crankshaft sensor , any body help
