Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 SRI Diesel - Loss of power and black smoke?
Hi i have a Vauxhall Zafira 1.9 SRI Diesel 150bhp, I just had a new DPF fitted, 1st day of driving car my emissions light came on took back to garage he says computer reading saying air leak, i said would see how it went, later that day i loss power just about crawling along ( not getting over 20mph)and black smoke everywhere. Had a quick look on net, could this be the EGR please someone help me as dont want to keep wasting money.Many Thanks
Hi, personally for the duration of removing your egr valve and cleaning it, I would start with that, see if your air filter needs changing then look at the pipes for leaks as last resort. Hope it helps!

it sound more like a turbo/vac pipe problem, as you car sounds like it went into limp mode, where as a failed egr valve, would not put your car in limp mode, failed egr usually only smoke on hard rev'ing , i would lean more to a failed pipe or a pipe thats blown off
