hi i have a w reg vauxhall vectra estate 2l diesel ls model. it is a taxi which i have recently purchased with a non operational taxi meter. The car has been fully operational until my driver fitted a live c/w inline fus to the meter to get it working.(this now works fine) unfortunately we have now lost all dash lights also we have no power to electric front windows no fog or reversing lights, we also have no speedo or rev counter. any help greatly appreciated. thanx

For sure an unrelated fuse has blown during the installation. These will be located in the fusebox, the fuses are of a type that can be inspected with the eye to see if the wire link has blown. Have a squint in the fuse box and if necessary go through the lot one by one until you find the culprit ! Sometimes there are a couple of locations for fuses make sure these are covered in your inspection. (trusty handbook will help )
