How do I disassemble a Homelite 330 to replace intake boot?

The intake boot on my Homelite 330 has rotted out. I've got a new boot and started the disassembly, but I can't seem to separate the bottom from the top of the housing. Everything is loose but the fuel tank (or the boss that holds the rubber grommet in the back by the handle) won't allow enough clearance for final separation. What am I missing? I don't want to force anything and break the plastic fuel tank.

I did this yesterday. First i pushed the top of the rubber boot under the carb.plate down, allowing the plate to swivel. Then I managed to loosen the rubber tubing underneath. And to extract the plate at the clutch side of the saw. Then the top came off. Just jerk from the handle side.

Do you have the 2 screws off that holds the plate that the carb sits on? Also the fuel lines loose that go to the carb? You can also take the fuel cap off and knock the fuel tank loos from the housing. Hope this helps.
