Mend Keypad Ge Phone

How Can I Repair the keypad on a GE Phone?

I've got a GE 900 mgh. A couple buttons are sticking on the handset. I read the suggestion to take out the battery and underneath remove the screws in order to take the phone apart and access the keypad for cleaning purposes. But I find only two screws under the battery. this releases the bottom half of the phone and the top seems firmly stuck together. I'm afraid to force it. I wondered if the antenna needed to come off but am concerned about forcing that too. Any suggestions?

Fantastic!!! I went out of town and forgot all about my question only to come home to my cr*ppy phone again and its sticky buttons. Went back on line, followed your instructions and pried the little b*gg*r open with a tiny flat screw driver. (didn't realize there'd be more screws inside and got a little girly and chicken about it but I persevered) There was some sticky residue inside between the pad and electronic board -- all it took was a fast wipe with an alcohol soaked cotton pad and a little wash ... et voila! It's like a new phone. Thank you all so much for your input. This site is ACES!

I got mine open at the top with a dinner knife. You have to pry until you're sure you're going to break it.

The unit will come apart with some force as you pry up around the top edges with something thin and strong like the round end of a stainless steel nail file, etc...be carefull, as it will take some force. ...clean all parts that come out of phone, keypad, rubber, plastic with alcohol and old toothbrush, then soap and water and dry with cotton towel and let them sit for awhile and air dry thouroughly. good luck

Oh I am searching all over the internet for an answer too!! Same problem with me -- only the bottom part is showing any sign of coming off.
