Mend HP PSC 2175

My HP PSC 2175 all-in-one machine has a problem?

Sometimes the machine freezes during scanning. Only pushing ON/OFF can resolve the issue.

But after this 'incorrect' shutdown the machine stops working. When I turn the machine on, the grinding noise is heard because the scanning lamp does not stop moving.

It takes 1-2 days for the machine to repair itself.
