I have a 2003 fwd transit and can only selecct 2&3rd gear, ford have said that the dust cap /washer has broken and can't be purchased without buying complete unit.? Does anyone no were I can get this part..?
Have you checked the needle roller bearing just under the oil seal on the selector shaft going into the top of the g/box.These are bad for seizing up and can usually be freed off with some patience and lubricant but you have to remove the top cover from the g/box which is held on with a ring of 10mm bolts.
