I've noticed recently that the heat is low although the switch is on high. I've tryed resetting the thermo switch but it's ok.What i've noticed is when i remove the fan cover and switch it on (i know this is dangerous but i'm extremely carefull) the four elements light up to full heat. But as i slowely replace it,the two elements nearer the fan go out.It seems like a loose connection but i've tried all the cables and they're tight. HELP !! i'm going mad.
Problem sorted,as thought the elements were broke so ordered a new complete element unit from EBAY and it came with cabling and plug complete. 10 mins of swapping them over and the dryer is working better than ever now. better than scrapping it and forking out 200 pound on a new one.
Thanks Trev for the sudgestions.

Thanks Trev, tried that but no. More investigation has found that the thin metal bars that are surrounded by the heater element windings have snapped on the hotter setting ones. This would have me believe that when i move the backing the cableing is ever so gently moving contact of these bars causing them to part. can the elements be bought seperately ? Anyone.

It could be that one of the thermostats is not working. When disconnected they should each show continuity when measured with a multi meter set on resistance with power safely off the machine.
