halston ace boiler central heating problem?

Heating comes on and off even when switched off and just set for hot water only! tried resetting. Any suggestions? This has only occured over the last two days, before then heating was set to come on twice on timer and was working fine. Then heating came on when should be off. Checked dial and timer.
