chain saw won't run when throttle is squeezed?

I won't be the chain brake, as previously suggested. If with the brake on it will accelerate. Nor have I ever heard of a "faulty throttle switch".

Check thet the fuel filter is clean and that fuel is getting to the carb. Next clean out the exhaust and (if fitted) replace the flame guard.

check the handguard, this has to be in the rear position so that if the saw jumps it is knocked forward and then switched off.
other than that, faulty throttle switch.
