why do i need to keep turning the drum to make it rotate?

Everything works but i have to turn the drum to make it revolve

How do you mean, that you have to rotate drum. Is that just to get it started or what. Most units have an interlock switch, to stop it rotating when door is open, for safety. IF you just need to turn it to get it going, could be motor start capacitor. IF it does not self rotate, could be belt or motor or controler.
