air lock on focus tdci?

focus 56 reg 1.8 tdci 115 hp
just replaced T belt and water pump but having great trouble in bleeding the air from the cooling system. there are no bleed screws/nipples. drained appox. 5 litres of coolant and can only fill it with 4 litres (header tank full), engine reaches temp. and fan has cut in, rad is cold and no hot air through blower (heater control set to max temp). all advice welcome
