grinding noise?

hi my 1999 ford ka is making a grinding noise on drivers side in the engine any ideas please

be very careful,if there is a timing belt pulley/idler breaking up then I would get it checked out before major engine damage occurs,you could try and remove fan belt and see if the noise disappears but wouldn`t run the engine too long
