Veritas 8C?

Our house is undergoing a full restoration, so the electricity has been turned off at regular periods over the last few weeks. This is causing problems with our alarm, my sparky has found out that everytime the power is turned off the alarm sounds and it blows the f1 fuse inside the alarm box.He as replaced the fuse several times over the last few weeks. What we don't understand is why it blows the fuse when we turn the power off, we are thinking a dusty environment is to blame and maybe it's got into the electronic circuitry. We have now shut the alarm down until the work is finished, can anyone shed some light on why it keeps blowing the fuse and can the whole circuit board be changed?, if so at what cost and where can I buy one, thankyou to all that can offer help.

Tested ehh?
What is the charging rate disconnected?
What is it connected?
What is the battery voltage totally disconnected?

What is the "float" charge?

Also what are the numbers on the top of the battery, we can tell you how old it is from them.

Ok David i still think the battery needs replacing, what device was used to test the battery and what was the readings?,bare in mind it cannot be tested with a multimeter.

Check the battery for lumps and bumps, and ripples, that's always a good sign that it's buggered, also if it's around five years of age it should be replaced regardless.

How about changing the control backup battery first, before yo start thinking the board is faulty.

It certainly sounds like the battery is goosed, and a faulty one will certainly blow the F1 batt fuse, go out and buy one and ask your sparky nicely if he will fit it.
