house alarm has died?

my mums house alarm went off one morning with an intuder alert from front door sensor being displayed on the keypad panel LCD. there was no intrusion, the door had not been opened or forced.

since then the alarm was constantly goin g off with internal speaker - not sure if external speaker was also activated.

i have turned off the electricity to reboot the alarm system - this makes the alarm look ok for the 1st few minutes after reset but then it goes off again with the internal speaker - then the keypad becomes inoperable, the sensor lights stop flashing with movement and the internal speaker emits a muffled sound.

i have also disconnected the battery and switched power off/on again - this has not solved the problem.

the alarm has no branding on it - i have contacted the company who fitted it but they dont seem too keen to give any advice unless we pay them for a call out - they did not leave a manual with us after fitting it

any help would be a godsend
