Mend Candy GOC218 Tumble Dryer Not

Tumble dryer Candy GOC218, drum not turning?

The drum on my dryer will not turn but when i take the top off and push it it works. what would be causing this?

The brushes in the motor break down over time and go soft which makes contact with the motor until it's turned manually and the dust is then removed for the motor to get the small arc to the middle(spinning spart)

...I was after an answer to the same question for a Candy GOC580C...I suspect start up capacitor or motor. Obviously the latter is expensive. What was the fault if you eneded getting someone in ?
