How can I fix my Magimix kettle?

8 years later and Magimix still supply 'premium' toasters where the lettering on the browning control rub off after a few months of use; and I too, have had a kettle fail at the distinctly sub-optimal lid hinge.

Sorry, can't help much but have the same problem. The hinge plastic is much too fragile. The hinge is programmed to fail just after the 1 year warranty period which is what happened to me. I took it back to the shop and they inform that the service agent wants HKD500 (USD62.) just to look at it - spares and repair on top of that. I'm just going to saw off the hinge inside the pot (it's difficult to remove as you need to take off the handle and it's unclear how to do that). Then I shall try to use it with the lid just laid on top.
