Sorry but I don't know anyone who can say why without physically doing some tests on various components such as pump, motor, lid switch, RPS etc. It could be a fault on the control board but just as easily could be something else. The last thing you want to do is buy a new board just for fun to see if that works. If it doesn't and something on the machine blows the new board you will be out of pocket. F&P will not take the board back once it has been fitted and no there will not be a warranty on it if fitted by anyone other than an appliance service person. Hubby needs to swallow his pride and admit defeat and call in someone that knows what they are doing and what to test. Sorry but that is the best advice I can give you.
