My Craftsman 536.797502 races like a motorcycle?

It won't stay running with the choke off unless you play with the throttle and then it runs at very high RPM.

Sounds like 2 faults - 1. Carburettor is lean - if the jets are not adjustable, dis-assemble & clean. 2. Check that the govenor is set correctly.

You don't say what engine model, but if it's fitted with a shut-off solenoid on the float bowl, check that it operates correctly.
